Portrait
This piece is just of a girl in a kind of dark space. The technique of the charcoal was kind of bad and the values are there but they could also be better. My piece is a charcoal piece, and the techniques could have been better. The inspiration for this piece was to try to copy the contrast of the original piece using the charcoal, to try to improve my skills with charcoal. My goal of this piece was to use it for practice and trying to improve my technique skills of charcoal media. I was able to improve my charcoal skills slightly but not by much. This piece was kind of a warm up.
master style
This piece is a surrealism piece that shows a heart with a tree growing from it, with clocks within and around the tree and the phases of the moon over the tree with a space like background. The piece was painted in acrylic paint which in come areas are blended either to transition into another color or to seem mixed within a area. This piece is supposed to be showing the growth of happy and love over time. The heart showing the happiness and love and the clocks, tree, and moons all showing the concept of time passing. My goals as an artist after this piece are to gain better and more techniques to use when painting with acrylic paint and in this piece I did start to gain the technique of blending with acrylic paint and for a beginning I think it was good. This piece as of right now is unfinished and I do plan on finishing the piece and I believe when I finished it will look great.
Plaster sculpture
This sculpture is a little sculpture of Dumbo the elephant looking up with his trunk in the air and of course big ears, painted in a sugar skull style. The things used to create this piece were balloons, newspaper, tape, paper Mache, along with paint. My inspiration for this piece was mainly the sugar skull part, then I got interested in an elephant so that became my piece. For this piece my goal was to start building a good technique in building a sculptures and creating a 3D piece. I think in this piece I did pretty good with that. When creating this piece I learned how to create a 3D piece well.
anatomical study
This piece if a somewhere figure of a girl sitting on her own legs. My piece is made from Prisma color pencils. In this piece I blended the colors to make colors of transitions by just lightly going over each color. This piece was inspired by the artist Wajin Gim and the human body. The goal for this piece as mainly to gain techniques using the Prisma color pencils. Also the goals was to show the body can be and is beautiful with any curve or crease. Creating this piece I learned techniques using the Prisma color pencils.
buA inspired
This piece shows Robin Williams showing some of the characters he played. Showing the genie coming from the lamp in some desert sand the genie bottom transitions into the body of the doctor with the head of the Jumanji man with big square Miss Doubtfire glasses with hands reaching forward towards the viewer. This piece was made of acrylic paint, just paint with some brushed. This piece was Justin BUA inspired piece with the foreshortening and the cartoonish part. In this piece I wanted to be able to work on my technical skills with acrylic paint. This piece challenged me with my skills because of the blending in places and the control of the paint. This piece did not meet what I imagined, mainly because my technical skills are not good with acrylic paint.
Clay
This clay piece looks like a former piece I've done. It is showing a movement of sort with balls, coils. and spirals. Making this piece I used the coiling method the teardrop method and the spiraling method putting them in sort of a non pattern, pattern. The big Idea of this piece was to better my technique's with clay and recreating one of my former clay pieces. Also the goal of this piece was to recreate a former piece of mine and better my techniques. The thoughts on my piece is it did accomplish my goal of bettering my technique and recreating me last piece.
